Fundamentals of Organizing
This overview of the three basic organizing areas (time, space and information) is a prerequisite for
all subsequent courses. Concepts and strategies are introduced plus tactical methods to
implement each strategy are taught with participants using their own situations to apply the
concepts.

Needs Assessment and Preparing the Organizing Plan
Learn a foolproof formula for determining trouble spots, identifying their causes and putting together
a plan to achieve successful results; includes how to locate the proper resources and estimate
costs.

Feb 29

Introduction to Project Planning and Event Management
Build upon goal setting strategies to create an action plan. You'll learn a simple project planning
strategy for recording project tasks, dates and resources, and then plan a simple event such as a
yard sale.

Mar 7

Time Organizing
Determine the best calendars for each situation and how to use them effectively, including how to
prioritize and sequence tasks in conjunction with what is on the calendar plus you'll also conduct a
three day time audit.

Space Organizing
Explore strategies to look objectively at any space, identify spaces, and categorize items. You'll learn
an easy seven step process to eliminate clutter to create the envisioned space then use that
process to organize a space. Included will be a discussion on chronic disorganization.

Paper Organizing
Address different methods for categorizing papers that are saved for reference for home as well as
businesses and discover the tools available for paper organizing; includes an overview of scanning
and filing papers electronically.

Financial Organizing
Learn a proven process to handle the flow of financial paperwork from receipt to action to when that
paperwork is permanently filed.

Information Organizing
Explore different types of information to be stored and various software programs used to store that
information plus learn to use an integrated system of information organizing that spans across all
electronic locations; must have basic computer experience.

Apr 25

"New Age" Organizing
Provides a general introduction to three organizing focuses associated with the "New Age": Feng
Shui, "green organizing", and "internal" organizing and explores the concepts of harmonizing the
flow of life-energy through the house, lessening environmental impact, and balancing individual
energy.

Strategies for Success for Professional Organizers
Explore the types of services organizers offer, specialty areas and populations, customer service,
professional and ethical considerations.
